Manager Andy Leese has re-signed defender Ben Toseland, after impressing in pre-season games.

Ben originally joined the Poppies from Northampton Town in July 2017. He had been at the Cobblers since he was 9 years old going through their youth and academy teams.

In 2016-17 he was in the running for the goal of the season in the League Football Education division when he scored a wonder goal against AFC Wimbledon. Ben made impressive strides soon becoming a first team regular at the Poppies, while also scoring another wonder goal this time against Farnborough. Ben had a great season capped by being selected by the Jamie Vardy V9 Academy during the summer of 2018.

He was a member of the 2018-19 Championship despite spending a period on loan at St Ives Town.  He joined Peterborough Sports in June 2019 before returning to the Saints. Ben made a surprise return to the Poppies in June 2022 but after 12 games he went back on loan to St Ives.
