A much changed Kettering Town side that only included Ben Toseland (above), Kai O’Keefe and Luca Millar in the starting XI, saw Andy Leese’s side lose to an 86th minute looping header .

A good crowd of 250, saw the Poppies having the better of the first half with a trialist wearing the no8 shirt pile in a shot at close range only to be denied by the home keeper.

O’Keefe had a chance before half time only to see his shot miss the target going wide.

HT 0-0

Harry Moors, Josh Drain and Charley Barker came on after half time as did goalkeeper Daniil Lee (late in the half). Lee was brought into action twice making crucial saves, tipping a shot over the bar and parrying a fierce shot from close range.

Luca Millar impressed throughout, playing against his team mates from last season.

It was a good work out for a trialist based squad and will give manager Andy Leese food for thought

FT 0-1
