17 Jul DOREEN HANGS HER BOOTS UP
After giving years of service for both Kettering Town FC and Burton Park Wanderers, Doreen Coles is taking a well-deserved retirement from her activities at Latimer Park.
Doreen and her late husband Graham were the heartbeat of both clubs, and since the Poppies moved to Burton Latimer in 2013, were paramount behind the scenes. Graham started in 2009 with Burton Park Wanderers and Doreen started running the bar for Wanderers in 2011.
Doreen then went on to run the bar and social events for the Poppies, as well as helping Graham with the pitch and surrounding areas of the ground, the countless hours she put into the club were unbelievable.
In more recent seasons Doreen left her bar duties in 2018-19 but continued helping out on match days in the sponsors suite, she was still a much loved figure around the club.
On behalf of Kettering Town Football Club, it goes without saying how much we appreciate everything you have done during your time with us, we all hope you take a well-deserved rest and enjoy your time with your family. You will always be welcome back at Latimer Park.
Kettering Town President Ken Samuel said, “Along with her late husband Graham, Doreen has been at Latimer Park since KTFC moved in.
As one of the few ‘constants’ she has been a massive help to us all at KTFC and before that to Burton Park Wanderers.
Great thanks from all of us at KTFC Doreen and enjoy your ‘retirement”.
