15 Nov Statement following last night’s Hillier Cup Fixture
The Club is pleased that last night’s Hillier Cup fixture went ahead last night with no difficulties.
Having received intelligence of potential trouble at the game, the Club and its Safety Officer liaised with Northants Police and decided that it was in the interest of all concerned to make the game all ticket and enforce segregation.
With the closure of ticket sales on Sunday evening, the Club could gauge the need for stewarding and security staff. In the current climate, the safety of all fans is paramount.
We have noted the comments from our friends at Corby Town published on their website on Monday.
We apologise to fans of both clubs who,for whatever reason, were unable to access tickets in time to attend the game – but our sole intention was to keep everyone safe.
We wish Corby Town the best for the rest of their season.
